Michigan gas prices reach another record: $4.10 a gallon

DETROIT (AP) — AAA Michigan says gas prices surged 19 cents during the past week to reach a statewide average of $4.10 a gallon.

It surpasses the previous record of $3.91 a gallon set a week ago and represents a 59-cent jump from the pump price last year at this time.

The auto club said Tuesday the cheapest price is in the Flint area, where a gallon costs $4.07. The highest average can be found in the Marquette area at $4.27 per gallon.

Detroit-area drivers are paying $4.08.

The statewide average for biodiesel is $4.77 and $3.52 for ethanol.

AAA Michigan surveys 2,800 Michigan gas stations daily.
