DOVER, N.H. (AP) — A youth group in Dover, N.H., that fights underage drinking is using a run-in with beer distributors to help spread its message.

With permission from stores, members of Dover Youth to Youth were in grocery stores on Tuesday as part of an annual project to put warning stickers on beer and other alcohol products. The stickers warn parents that most children take their first drinks of beer from their own home.

Members of the group, which is backed by the police department, say that while placing stickers on some Anheuser-Busch products at two stores, three beer distributors attempted to stop them, saying they were destroying the product and making a mess. Group members said the distributors ripped the stickers off.

Police Department Prevention Coordinator Dana Mitchell said he was proud of the youth for trying to explain their case. They will get another chance on Wednesday, with a demonstration and news conference in downtown Dover.
