NEW YORK (AP) — One person's trash is another person's furniture. And we're not just talking about the urban practice of curbside scavenging.

Two New Yorkers hope to sell furniture made from discarded wood and construction materials.

Jon Santiago and Amelia Cunard have assembled a team for their startup.

They're partnering with a group called Sustainable South Bronx. Now they're looking for more financing and a warehouse.

Suppliers will include a New Jersey furniture company that produces "tons of waste" and a group called Build it Green. The latter finds a home for construction waste bound for landfills.

Cunard is a graduate of the Parsons School of Design at the New School. Santiago has a math degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
