In time for holiday travel, the Indiana Department of Transportation has launched its expanded ‘TrafficWise’ traveler Web site giving updated information on all state roads, U. S. highways and interstates around Indiana.

Motorists can access the site at TrafficWise.IN.gov or get information by calling (800) 261-ROAD (7623).

Information available from TrafficWise includes winter road conditions, traffic delays from crashes, construction or maintenance and snapshots from 80 traffic cameras in northwest and central Indiana’s urban areas.

“As the busy Thanksgiving travel holiday draws near, INDOT encourages motorists to ‘Know Before You Go’ by arming themselves with information from the new INDOT TrafficWise service,” said Michael Reed, INDOT commissioner.

INDOT is the first to launch the new software, developed with pooled federal money from a dozen states that will provide user-friendly Web and phone traveler information.
