WASHINGTON (AP) — Carl Levin raised about $840,000 for his Senate re-election campaign during the last three months of 2007.

That extends the Detroit Democrat's wide lead in fundraising over his potential opponents.

Levin's campaign reports Tuesday that he ended 2007 with almost $3.9 million in the bank for his re-election campaign.

The field of Republicans hoping to challenge Levin includes former state lawmaker Andrew "Rocky" Raczkowski and Troy engineer Bart Baron. Raczkowski had nearly $60,000 in his campaign account through the end of September. Final numbers were not immediately available for his campaign.

Levin is considered the favorite to win a sixth term to the Senate in November.
