LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Arizona Sen. John McCain is seeking support from Michigan Republicans who are gathering for their state convention in Lansing.

Speaking in a taped video shown Saturday, the leading Republican contender for president thanked his supporters and asked Republicans who had backed his opponents to join his team.

McCain says: "We all need to come together."

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney won Michigan's Jan. 15 presidential primary. But the Michigan native's delegates are uncommitted since he dropped out of the race.

Those delegates will go to the Republican National Convention as uncommitted, but many now back McCain.

Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee also was expected to get some delegates from Michigan.
