INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Sen. John McCain, the likely Republican presidential nominee, is expected to visit Indianapolis on Friday for a campaign fundraiser, a state Republican Party official said.

Jay Kenworthy, the communications director for the Indiana Republican Party, said McCain's invitation-only fundraiser will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Conrad Indianapolis.

He said he isn't sure how much it will cost invitees to attend.

Kenworthy said it's possible that the Arizona senator might hold a town hall meeting during his stop in Indianapolis.

Rebecca Zepick, who works in media relations for McCain's campaign, could not confirm McCain will be in Indiana. She said she expected to know more early this week.

"We're pleased," said Kenworthy. "He's the first presidential candidate of this cycle to come through, and everyone expected it to be Hillary (Clinton) or (Barack) Obama."

The two candidates in the Democratic primary are in a closer race than McCain is in for the Republican primary, Kenworthy noted.

So what you are saying, Anonymous, is that you have less respect for someone who does forgive than someone who does not. Interesting thinking.

You know, I really lost all respect for him when after the Bush/Cheney/Rove smear machine spread such vile lies about him in 2000, he has apparently become best friends with all of them. All is forgiven. They were talking about his kid, there are lines you don't cross & some things you don't forgive. Those pix of him & Bush in their man hugs make me ill. Some Maverick.
