Ohio governor OK with new primaries for Mich., Fla.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio Governor Ted Strickland has no problem with the concept of do-over primary elections in Michigan and Florida.

The Democrat who has been campaigning for Hillary Rodham Clinton says "the fairest thing" would be to allow the re-votes.

Clinton won the Democratic primaries already held in Michigan and Florida, but the results were meaningless. The Democratic National Committee says the two states went too early, so no delegates were awarded.

Even if Michigan and Florida go again, Strickland says he doubts either Clinton or Barack Obama will have enough delegates to lock in the Democratic presidential nomination once all the primaries are done. That would leave the final decision up to superdelegates, including the governor.
