ROCHESTER -- Excitement is growing in Rochester. Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to visit Rochester High School Monday. He'll be there to attend a "Solutions for America" rally. Clinton's visit to Rochester marks the first by a former president.

Fulton County's Democratic chairperson wasn't prepared for the news.

"You just don't pick up the phone every day and say, "Hi, this is Julie and I'm just calling to tell you that President Clinton is going to be in Rochester on Monday,'" said Fulton County’s Democratic Chairperson Sandy Tyler.

Since then, word of President Clinton's visit has spread like wildfire.

"I was actually kind of surprised that he was coming to Rochester because we're not that big of a town," said Rochester resident Kathy Clark.

Clinton's visit will mark the first by a former president.

"In 1968 Bobby Kennedy was in Logansport. And we haven't had a Democrat for president since then,” said Tyler.

Which is why many say it's a once in a lifetime opportunity they don't want to miss.

"I want to see all the people. I want to see what it brings in. And I've never seen President Clinton when he was president, so I think that's neat," said Rochester resident Laurie Cox.

"Oh, I think it will be wonderful. People are so excited about it, so very excited about it," said Tyler.

The rally is free and open to the public. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m.

President Clinton is scheduled to arrive at 3:15 p.m. After he visits Rochester, he'll head to Logansport.

I am with you Deb. For the life of me I can not understand WHY ANYONE would want to want to see that philandering scumbag. I guess some in our nation are morally bankrupt.

Not all the people of Rochester are excited. I personally wouldn't cross the street to see that man. However, I would be interested in seeing his tax returns.
