MISHAWAKA — For the third time this week a member of the Clinton family was in the area campaigning. This time it was the presidential candidate herself, Sen. Hillary Clinton.

She delivered a speech at Mishawaka High School Friday morning in an event that was free and open to the public.

People were so excited to hear what Sen. Clinton had to say, they started lining up outside the high school at 4:30 a.m. Everyone in line made it inside and security did not turn anyone away.

WSBT News was told Mishawaka High School students were not required to attend, but about 1,700-1,800 students, faculty and staff did join the public in the high school's gym to hear Clinton speak.

Before Clinton took the stage in front of a crowd of about 4,000 people, actor Sean Astin gave his own speech about why he supports her campaign and why Hoosiers should vote for Hillary.

Sen. Clinton took the stage around 11:30 a.m. She spoke about the future of Indiana’s economy, the upcoming primary and job cuts.

"This is about jobs, jobs and jobs,” she told the crowd. “This is about the middle class and what kind of chances we're going to provide so that people can make the most of your God-given potential and your ability and willingness to work hard. And I believe with all my heart there isn't a single challenge Americans face today that we cannot overcome together."

Sen. Clinton also gave the podium to two local people — a woman who was laid off and a man who works at AM General.
