A question, a reflection, and an endorsement. That's what musician Dave Matthews had to say on his official Web site, about a nation divided that needs a change, when he offered his endorsement for Illinois Sen. Barack Obama for president.

And when Matthews played at Indiana University in Bloomington Sunday, he offered more than his endorsement as he had the chance to take that message to young voters preparing to participate in the state's May 6 primary.

The "Change Rocks" event was set for 7 p.m. in Assembly Hall, where Matthews performed along with fellow musician Tim Reynolds.

Before the night was out, people from among the thousands who attended the free show were sharing the experience on the Web, posting their opinions to the blog at www.barackobama.com and sharing video clips of the show at www.youtube.com.

There, fans of Dave Matthews could watch him perform "Ants Marching" during a show designed to inspire voters to support Obama's candidacy for president.

And on his own Web site, Matthews encourages voters to register to participate in the elections — something Hoosiers will have to do Monday if they haven't done so already, because it's the final day to register for the Indiana primary.

Dave could say that Hitler himself should lead this country and it still wouldn't change the fact that I don't like his music. Anyone who votes for a candidate simply because of what some celeb says, shouldn't be allowed to vote. I'll say it: ignorant people shouldn't be allowed to vote!

Wow Bill, I don't know if he would be that bad???? I would never vote for him. I think we're all getting screwed this time around with the poor choices we have to vote for. Dave just shut up and sing.

If you like the way Hugo Chavez runs his country then obama's your man.

Regardless of who he choses, DAVE IS AWESOME!!! His music is tremendous, and relaxing. Who cares what anyone thinks, be yourself, vote for your favorite choice. The important thing is that you VOTE!!!!

Just because Dave endorses someone doesn't mean you have to stop listening to his music. Feel free to think on your own and form your own opinion about who you are voting for. Go for someone who you believe can do the job, regardless of what stupid party he belongs to. If people actually used their brains instead of their party affiliation, we wouldn't have this bozo Bush in the office anymore. (Not that his competition was any better.) By the way, I'm not voting for Obama, but I LOVE DAVE!!!!

I love Dave's music, and I think he's a decent actor also. If any artist endorses a politician that I don't like, I simply will no longer buy their product. Sorry Dave, your loss not mine.

Hey, alright. Another celebrity using his fame to try to tell people who to vote for. Who cares about Dave Matthews? Who really cares who he wants to be president. If I walk around all day telling people who I want to win everyone will tell me to shut up and keep it to myself. He should do the same. He should also not dump human waste on top of tourists on the Chicago River. Mr. Environmentalist himself needs to keep his thoughts to himself. Shut it and sing.

Dear assignment editor: Here's a story idea: How does voter registration this year compare with previous election years?

Gee, if two of the greatest philosophers of our time (Mike Collins and Dave Who?) say vote for Obama, we better take their advice!
