SOUTH BEND — Supporters of Sen. Barack Obama say even though it appears he lost in Indiana, they still believe he will be the Democratic nominee.

Most of the people at the Democratic Club Tuesday night were Obama supporters. Sen. Clinton had a large margin early in the night, but the supporters cheered as Obama managed to narrow the margin.

Many of them worked long hours, making calls and canvassing to try and get the vote out. They say the loss here stings, but their candidate still inspires.

“He was here to unite people and hopefully, he won North Carolina, hopefully closing in on Indiana," said Carla Crittendon earlier in the evening. "I’m very excited. Obama has everyone excited."

“He’s telling the truth, and people know that," said Sharon Downing. "Look at this group, it’s a diverse group. He brings people together … amazing."
