McCain planning campaign stop in Indianapolis

Tools

INDIANAPOLIS — Republican presidential candidate John McCain has scheduled an Indianapolis trip to speak at a meeting of the National Sheriffs Association.

The sheriffs group says that McCain will be speaking July 1 during its meeting at the Indiana Convention Center.

The Indianapolis Star reports that McCain will also attend a fundraising event in downtown Indianapolis. There was no immediate confirmation of the trip from the McCain campaign.

The Republican presidential nominee-in-waiting last visited the state in February, when he spoke at a town hall meeting in Indianapolis and held a private fundraising event.
