Steven Clark, you took the words right off my keypad. This was a great day for America in my book too. It is high time accountability takes priority. Let's take our bumps now for a better tomorrow for our kids and grandkids. They should have a shot at true freedom too.

Take this entire bailout mess out of the hands of the politicians, Washington DC and Wall Street, and appoint a non-partisan council of eight to ten members from the private sector to negotiate, regulate and administer the future of all the lending and banking institutions in the USA; with restrictive dollar compensation for their efforts as a "watchdog overseer" of these special industries, and their employees.

I live in Florida but praise your congressional representatives that voted NO. On the news, the Dollar rose against the Pound and the Euro! The government has no business in economics....that is how we got into this mess. I encourage all of you to contact your representatives and be heard.

Reps. Buyer, Burton and Pence, Thank you for voting down this economic package. It is hard to believe the way it is being reported. You listened to the people. If the democrats and non free-market folks think: It’s government for the people – it’s not – It’s government by the people. And the people have spoken. No! to deficit spending. No! to bail-outs. No! to risk transfer. NO TO SOCIALISM!! Thank you and God Bless, C McNeil Monrovia ps As for rest... Memories..

How about the fat cats who made so much money face their losses. They didn't share their big profits with the taxpayers, why should they share the losses with us? Let them pay off their debts just like we would. They can sell everything, pay off their debts, get an $8.00 an hour job and start over. No more fancy parties, big cars and foreign accounts. Their kids will have to ride a bus or walk to public school. Their spouses will have to get a job and start using coupons to feed their families.

Pelosi, Gorelick, Reid, Dodd, Frank, Schumer, These are the most responsible people for the mess of Fannie and Freddie. Videos of them saying 4 years ago when the Republicans were trying to warn of coming disaster. These people are terribly incompetent, or on the dole. They should be thrown out of office and put in stocks for the people to stare at and ridicule.

This is a GREAT DAY for the American people and the US Constitution! My faith in Congress has been restored by highly courageous house members from both parties uniting to vote NO to socialism in America. Bravo to those who voted against this terrible bailout! Those who supported this massive dumping of bad debts onto the American taxpayers should be ashamed of themselves. They better start packing their bags now.

Which of those Representatives are up for re-election in 5 weeks? They sacrificed the country so they could keep their jobs. That's why we send well versed reps to DC. Their constituents do not understand the pain we will all feel for a very long time if the bailout does not happen. It is the job of elected officials to do what is best for the country. God help us.

I notice all Indiana Republicans voted no and Michigan Republicans voted how they felt their distric citizens would want them to. This is too critical of an issue to just vote politics. Wake up Indiana. I think I'm going to find out who is running against Rep. Souder and what he stands for.

A place where the working class earn their wages and have all their dreams yanked out at a moments notice - yet they want to agree to give money to the vary tyrants they despise daily! There is no win-win here, just more poor Americans witrhout jobs and the rich keeping their money while you flip the bill with your future tax dollars - smart choice for the Democrats to support this so highly!
