INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama plans a campaign stop in Lake County on Friday.

His campaign said Wednesday night that Obama will speak at an 8:30 p.m. EDT rally at Wicker Memorial Park in Highland. The event, four days before the election, is free and open to the public, the campaign said.

His campaign also released details of running mate Joe Biden's visit to Evansville on Saturday. It said Biden would appear with his wife, Jill, at a rally beginning at 10 a.m. CDT at the intersection of Main and 6th Streets.

Obama's last stop in Indiana was last Thursday, when he held a rally in downtown Indianapolis. The stop in northwestern Indiana will put him in what is a stronghold for Democrats.

Friday's rally will mark Obama's eighth Indiana visit since mid-July as his campaign makes the strongest Democratic push in decades for the state's electoral votes.

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin had a rally Wednesday night in Jeffersonville.
