WASHINGTON, D.C. — If you want an up close and personal seat for President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration on Jan. 20, take a number.

More than 1,000 requests have come in to U.S. Rep. Joe Donnelly’s office, according to his spokesman, Samantha Slater.

The office does not yet know how many tickets it will be able to distribute.

The good news is, tickets are only required for the reserved seating close to the action.

The National Mall - a large strip of land between the U.S. Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial - will be open to the general public with large video screens to show Obama taking the oath of office.
