Free rides will be offered in Elkhart and Goshen on Tuesday to help primary election voters get to the polls, thanks to the Michiana Area Council on Government.

Some of the free rides will be offered on the Interurban Trolley, a bus that MACOG offers in downtown Elkhart and Goshen, along the U.S. 33 corridor, in the North Pointe area of Elkhart and the south side of Goshen.

For more about the Trolley’s schedules and routes, call (574) 674-8894 or go to the Web site www.interurbantrolley.com.

Also, free rides will be offered on the Heart City Rider and Goshen Transit Service. This normally is discounted cab service. The cab ride will be free only for people going to vote — not for other purposes — and only during polling hours 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

But before you can use the cab service, you have to enroll in either program. For the Goshen Transit Service, sign up at The Window, 223 S. Main St., or the Goshen Housing Authority, 1101 W. Lincoln Ave., Suite 100.

For Elkhart’s Heart City Rider, sign up at the Elkhart Housing Authority, 1396 Benham Ave.; Work One of Elkhart,
430 Waterfall Drive; Elkhart County Council on Aging, 2555 Oakland Ave.; Indiana Vocational Rehabilitation, 347 W. Lusher Ave.; ADEC Industries, 2700 Industrial Parkway, or Youth Service Bureau/Helping Hand, 101 E. Hively Ave.
