Some tips for Election Day:

— Double check your voter registration status and polling location online so you don't waste time going to the wrong place. Call 1-866-IN-1-VOTE or visit www.indianavoters.com.

— Consider early voting. All counties offer early, in-person voting for all registered voters until noon Monday at county election offices. Many counties also offer satellite voting sites around the county. Check with county election officials to determine locations and hours. Contact information is available at www.indianavoters.com.

— Avoid peak voting hours on Election Day. The busiest times are typically from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Lunch hour also can be hectic.

— Prepare to wait in line.

— Bring identification. The state requires a photo ID issued by Indiana or the U.S. government that displays your photo and name. The ID must contain an expiration date and must be current or have expired after Nov. 7, 2006. In most cases, an Indiana driver's license, photo ID card, military ID or passport will work.

— If you have voting accessibility complaints or want to report fraud on Election Day, call the state's Help America Vote Act hotline at 1-866-IN-1-VOTE or download a grievance form online: www.in.gov/sos/elections/hava/grievanceline.html
