LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will campaign Monday in Lansing.

His campaign says Obama plans to speak at the downtown Lansing Center at 11 a.m. It will be his first campaign stop in Michigan since a two-day swing June 16-17 that took him to Flint, Detroit and its suburbs.

It also will be the Illinois senator's first campaign stop in Lansing.

Two recent statewide polls have shown a tight race between Obama and Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

McCain last campaigned in Michigan on July 18. Both campaigns have been running ads in the state.
