Country duo Sugarland will soon give a deposition about what happened the night the stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair.
The deposition is scheduled for April 12-13 in Charleston, W. Va. The questioning will center around State Fair executive director Cindy Hoye’s testimony. Hoye claimed she asked the band to delay twice and they refused because they were trying to get to Iowa to play the state fair there.
Meantime, Mid-America Sound is responding to the State Fair stage collapse lawsuit, saying it’s not their fault. The company admits it, "leased stage equipment to the State Fair Commission... but denies all remaining allegations."
Instead, it claims the equipment was, "modified or altered" and "unforeseeably misused."
The company points to its contract with the State Fair which states the, "purchaser assumes all risks inherent in the operation and use of the equipment.”
