Two men were arrested Wednesday, accused of robbery while armed and attempted robbery while armed, for two incidents in Muncie.
According to the Muncie Police Department, 20-year-old Kyle Ray and 18-year-old Andrew Minton were together Wednesday morning along the 2300 block of South Mulberry Street and the 200 block of East 9th Street. The department received a call at 4:45 a.m. about someone trying to force their way into a home.
“I started to unlock the door. I think I unlocked the knob,” she recollected.
The woman said she turned on the porch light and realized she did not know the person who was on the other side of the door.
“Right in front of my face (I saw) somebody my height. I saw a red bandana,” she said.
The woman said she also saw a gun pointed at her through the door.
“I just flopped down to the ground to the floor and I started yelling for my husband, 'Honey, honey, get your gun,'” she said.
The unidentified woman said she then heard the person outside of her home run away. According to Investigator Rick Howell the two men ran seven blocks and about 19 minutes later, robbed a woman who was trying to get into her truck. According to detectives, Ray and Minton wore bandanas.
“She said she had just gotten into her truck and they were there,” Howell said.
Howell said the men pointed their guns at her.
“That’s not something you are expecting. That’s going to shake anyone up,” he said.
Detectives said the men got away with her purse. Detectives arrested both men in the area.
“They have a lot of nerve just going from one house to another,” the first victim said.
