In a matter of months, WSBT will be moving into a brand new building.

Our new television station is scheduled to be finished by June.

The inside of the new WSBT is starting to take shape. But the outside is where you can really tell what's been accomplished.

Project manager Mike Lord took us on a tour. He says the outside was enclosed just before Christmas allowing his crew to work inside during the winter.

The room with the high ceiling, Big Studio A, will be our new studio where we broadcast the news.

In general, the west side of the building is for television, the east side for WSBT's radio stations. People walking through the building will be able to see radio hosts while on air.

The workers are putting up double thick dry wall for sound proofing for the new Sunny 101. 5 studios — the place where deejays will broadcast live.

When you're building a television and radio station, there are lots of cables needed for audio, video, and computer needs. They'll all run under the floor so the whole building will be connected.

The second floor of the building is mainly administrative offices. Much of the dry wall there is already up. On the first floor, workers are in the process of putting up dry wall.

Overall, the building has almost 7,000 sheets of dry wall.

But Mike Lord says the building will be done on time.

“You're suppose to be broadcasting from here in June," he said.

The groundbreaking was in December of 2006. The building of the foundation started in March and April of last year.

The building is located off Douglas Road just east of the new St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
