Have you ever walked into a movie theater and thought you were actually at a rock concert?

Pat McQuade of South Bend has a Good Question: "What agency, if any, serves as a watchdog over the sound levels in local movie theaters?"

WSBT explains what you can do if your ear drums are hurting.

If you choose to leave home to watch a movie at a theater you probably expect a loud experience. But has it ever become too loud?

South Bend, Mishawaka and St. Joseph County all have a noise ordinance. But they do not apply to the inside of a movie theater. One county official told WSBT, if you think it's too loud don't go to that theater.

WSBT was able to talk to the corporate office of Kerasotes Theatre. They run Showplace 16 in South Bend. Management says movies are sent with a recommended volume level and they don't intend to run a preview louder than that level.

Kerasotes also says employees check things inside theaters like movie volume and the temperature.

Kerasotes suggests if you're unhappy about something, talk to a manager.
