When will Elkhart County send out property tax bills?

Some Indiana homeowners are still waiting on their first property tax bill of the year. Those bills normally would have been due in the spring.

Vickie Myers of Syracuse wants to know, "When will Elkhart County send out property tax bills?"

If you live in Elkhart County you know you're still waiting on your first property tax bill of the year — the one that would normally be due in the spring.

That means taxpayers are likely to have two property tax bills to pay in a short period of time.

County Treasurer Larry Ernst says the now required yearly reassessments of property values have slowed their work, along with a change in computer software.

Ernst is hopeful to have the first bill mailed out in late September. If that happens one bill would be due in October, the next in November.

While we all feel bad for the factory workers that lost their jobs, my wife and I are tired of hearing boo hoo for the factory workers. My wife was recently let go from her work for a made up reason just because the employer did'nt want to have to pay unemployment. We fought it and lost. My wife did not work for a factory just like many people that have lost there jobs. Could you please research or interview companys like Wal-Mart, Lowes, Target, or Menards. Find out just how bad they are.
