SOUTH BEND — When you see this week's weather forecast March probably seems like a long, long way off.

But South Bend's annual St. Patrick's Day celebration is just over two months away.

Nick Robertson of South Bend has a Good Question: When is the 2009 Paddy Party in downtown South Bend being held?

WSBT's Kirk Mason has the answer.

If the snow piles and sub-zero temperatures that are on the way are not your thing, it really isn't that long before one of South Bend's biggest parties will be here. It's an annual event that helps signify spring is at last about to start.

In a town where the Fighting Irish play football, it's no surprise St. Patrick's Day would be a big deal. The Downtown South Bend organization says last year's St. Paddy's event drew a record crowd: 3,000 people at the tent party, 4,700 on the pub tour.

This year's tent party and pub tour will happen before St. Patrick’s Day, on Friday, March 13. The tent is moving a little south this year to the intersection of Michigan and Wayne near the St. Joseph County Public Library.

The tent party will run from 5 – 11 p.m. that Friday night. The headlining group is a rock band called "Still Shot."
