It's the phone call most of us dread right during dinner — a telemarketer asking you to buy something.

Now some are worried telemarketers are going to start costing them cell phone minutes.

Lyn from Pulaski County has a Good Question: Is it true phone numbers will be released to telemarketers next month?

WSBT's Kirk Mason found out it's not true.

The rumors are on the Internet, claiming cell phone numbers are going to be released to telemarketers.

The Indiana Attorney General's Office says it's not true; it's just rumor.

But if you want extra protection cell phone numbers can be registered on the National Do Not Call Registry.

Just go to www.donotcall.gov.

If you have not registered for Indiana's Do Not Call List, a deadline is fast approaching. You must register by February 20 to start receiving the benefits of no telemarketer calls by April 1. Click the link in the Related Content box for more information.
