INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Health insurer WellPoint Inc. is offering a new provider directory designed for a patient's cell phone or BlackBerry.

WellPoint says its directory can provide directions to hospitals or a doctor's office that are designed to fit on the small screen of a cell phone.

Patients can find the addresses or phone numbers of doctors in the WellPoint network by city, zip code or name. They also can search by specialty, gender or languages spoken.

WellPoint unveiled the directory in Connecticut, Maine and New Hampshire but plans to expand to other markets throughout the year.
