UPDATE: Bremerton police say accused Taco Bell robber, Sean Brown, has turned himself in Tuesday night.
---ORIGINAL CASE 8/6/12---
Bremerton police arrested a Taco Bell employee who they believe conspired in a robbery at the restaurant shortly after 3:30 a.m. Saturday in the 4200 block of Wheaton Way.
The other suspect in the robbery, which resulted in an officer-involved shooting, remains at large. Moments after the robbery, an officer stopped a vehicle near the Taco Bell at the intersection of Almira Drive and Spruve Avenue.
During the traffic stop, the officer fired multiple rounds at the driver, who was standing outside of the vehicle at the time. The man then ran southbound towards Sylvan Way. The area where the shooting occurred was contained and Washington State Patrol and the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office also arrived on the scene. A K-9 unit was used to locate the suspect, but the man was not found.
Police believe the suspect was Sean T Brown, 26. Brown is described as a black male about 6 feet tall and 220 pounds, and was wearing a goatee when last seen. Police consider Brown, who is wanted for probable cause of robbery in the first degree, armed and dangerous.
The Taco Bell employee who was arrested is a 23-year-old male. He was booked into Kitsap County Sheriff's Office jail on one count of robbery in the first degree. His bail was set at $250,000.
The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on paid administrative leave which is standard procedure in officer-involved shootings. The officer was not injured in the incident.
