From sky-high fares, to long lines, to lost luggage...there`s a lot to complain about.
But losing your Louis Vuitton luggage is one thing--losing a kid is quite another.
That`s exactly what happened recently to a 10 year-old girl named Phoebe as she flew United from San Francisco to Chicago on her way to summer camp in Michigan.
Phoebe never arrived in Michigan, and when the freaked out parents called united, a rep told them 'We don`t know where she is, but I`m sure she`s safe.'
Turns out, United contracts another company to escort unaccompanied minors to their next flight, and they simply forgot to show up.
So Phoebe missed her connecting flight to Traverse City.
According to a scathing letter written by her parents to the airline, at one point they were put on hold for 40 minutes before someone in India picked up the phone.
This cluster #$%! happened back in June, but well-known columnist Bob Sutton blogged about it recently, and the story has taken off.
United has apologized, refunded some fees and said they're looking into it.
The good news: Phoebe did arrive in Traverse City for camp
The bad news: Phoebe`s bags were lost for three days.Three days at camp with no clean underwear?
Talk about gross negligence!
