WESTMINSTER (KTLA) -- Two married teachers have been arrested for allegedly having unlawful sex with a 17-year-old student.

Charges were filed Wednesday against Daniel Alma Shepard, 62, and his wife Gay Davidson-Shepard, 59, for allegedly raping one of Daniel Shepard's students at Westminster High between April and December 2009.

According to the Orange County District Attorney, Shepard and his wife regularly invited the male student to their home in Huntington Beach to drink alcohol, eat, use their hot hub and watch movies.

The sexual activity continued on a weekly basis for several months, prosecutors said.

Shepard is also accused of asking the boy to send nude photos of himself.

The suspects are only being charged for crimes committed before the victim turned 18 in December 2009.

Last month, the victim disclosed of the alleged assaults to his mother, who later told police.

Shepard has been charged with felony counts of oral copulation of a minor, sodomy with a minor, possession and control of child pornography and one misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

He could face up to 5 years in prison.

Davidson-Shepard is also a teacher at Mesa View Middle School in Huntington Beach. She faces up to 8 years and four months in state prison on 7 felony and misdemeanor counts.

They have been released on $150,000 bail and are scheduled to be arraigned May 19.
