CALDWELL, Idaho (KTLA) -- A billboard is stirring controversy for putting the images of the President alongside a the suspect in a shooting at a Colorado theater that killed 12 and injured dozens.

The billboard features a photo of James Holmes with the caption "Kills 12 in a movie theater with assault riffle, everyone freaks out," written under his picture. Next to his image is that of President Barack Obama with the words, "Kills thousands with foreign policy, wins Nobel Peace Prize."

That billboard often features anti-Obama messages and is sponsored by a libertarian group called The Ralph Smeed Foundation.

The group says it doesn't mean to disparage the President but merely wants to draw attention to the sacrifices of military men and women overseas.

"We’re all outraged over that killing in Aurora, Colo., but we’re not outraged over the boys killed in Afghanistan,” foundation member Maurice Clements, told The Idaho Statesman.
