Suspects Sought in Niles Bank Robbery

By Tiffany Griffin

(SBT24/7News) Police are still searching for the individuals who robbed the Berrien Teachers Credit Union branch in Niles Township shortly before 10 a.m. Thursday.

No one was injured in the heist at 1501 S. 11th St., which netted an undetermined amount of cash, a Berrien County Sheriff's Department official said.

Little more has been officially said about the incident, which was reported to police at 9:44 a.m.

Authorities, including the FBI and the Michigan State Police, were on the scene for several hours.

Early police scanner traffic indicated that four men, one of whom was possibly armed, drove away from the credit union.

Initially, police were looking for a gray Chevrolet.

Police declined to provide a description of the suspects Thursday afternoon.
