(SBT24/7News) Indiana State Police were still working on a possible meth lab case early Monday morning after a police chase that began in Syracuse, but authorities were releasing few details about what happened.

ISP authorities sent their meth team to the intersection of C.R. 29 and C.R. 52 near Auburn, where they remained on the scene at 4:30 a.m. after items associated with meth production were thrown from the window of a vehicle that then escaped.

The chase began in Syracuse, ISP said, and the pursuit continued until the car sped out of sight, leaving a backpack with the items at the intersection.

Police declined to elaborate on why the chase began or what items they discovered in the backpack.

Authorities with the Syracuse Police Department acknowledged that the chase began there but declined to comment on the investigation.
