(WSBT) Two St. Joseph County men are in custody for stealing scrap metal in Elkhart County.

Police arrested 21-year-old Joseph Kozakiewicz and 21-year-old Brian Banasiewicz last week.

The two were caught red-handed taking metal from the Franklin RV Coach plant in Nappanee.

That plant was hit by last month's tornado.

Police say they also stole items from several construction sites in Mishawaka.

They now face preliminary charges of burglary and possession of stolen property.
