UPDATE: Two Women Arrested in Connection With Homicide Near AM General

By Tiffany Griffin

(WSBT) The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit arrested two women early Sunday morning in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in a Mishawaka home.

Around 10 p.m. Saturday, two people reported a possible homicide to the Mishawaka Police.

Officers from the Metro Homicide Unit were sent to the address provided by the witnesses. They found a man's body in the home, located in the 56000 block of Hoosier Avenue in Mishawaka. The street runs parallel to Capital Avenue, just west of the AM General plant.

The victim has since been identified as 57-year-old Brad Fulford.

Officers learned the suspects, two women, were driving the Fulford's vehicle and staying in a local motel.

Early Sunday morning, investigators from the Metro Homicide Unit and officers from the St. Joseph County Police located the two suspects and Fulford's car at the motel.

Kelly Patterson, 24, of Mishawaka was arrested on a preliminary charge of murder and Denise Culp, 33, of Mishawaka was arrested on a preliminary charge of assisting a criminal.

An autopsy will be conducted Monday, November 19.

If anyone has information regarding the case, please contact the Metro Homicide Unit Office at (574-235-5009), or call Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP.

Thanks for all the nice complements about my brother - I miss him too. It should have never happened. He was the best!

I'm really sorry Brad was murdered but the drugs are to blame. He wasn't completely innocent here if he was spending his time with crackheads, but obviously that doesn't mean he should have died. Crack is wack.

It is pretty sad that people take this oppertunity to leave a comment on this page and all they do is complain about auto accidents , under paid police and more parks.Brad was a nice guy who got taken advantage of by a couple of crack heads

I did need them last week for a traffic accident that cost in excess of $2,000 in damages. Maybe if 3 of the 5 cops were doing their jobs instead of wasting 2 hours a day sitting around they would've caught the jerk instead of letting them get away.

My sister lives on the same street and says this house has always had some sort of "drama" going on with it. She's not surprised. Too bad there was loss of life. God bless the family left to grieve.

Put them both on a rack or string them up from the highest tree. For all the town folk to see. This is the best justice and punishment known to real Americans.

It seems that these crimes and also home invasion are on the rise in our area. Our police are underpaided and our city seems to be on a major spending spree on things that wont help our problems. To bad we didnt see more people vote to change this.

We really need more parks to deter all this crime.
