(WSBT) What price will you pay to save money this holiday season? It will only be a matter of hours after the last devil led egg is eaten and the final piece of pumpkin pie is cut before eager shoppers begin to line-up.

But some people decide to pass on 'Black Friday" Christmas shopping. Just how beneficial is it to lose sleep, but save money?

With this hypothetical, but typical, Christmas list, we calculated the amount one person might save by taking advantage of the advertised "doorbuster" sales.

Best Buy Christmas List

  • Movie: "300"
  • TomTom ONE LE GPS
  • Kodak - 6.16MP Digital Camera w/ Digital Photo Frame - White
  • SanDisk - Sansa Clip 2GB* MP3 Player - Pink

If you purchase each item during the Best Buy Doorbusters sales, the total cost would be $261.96 (tax not included). If, however, you wait to purchase the items on your Best Buy Christmas list, your total would be $409.96 — a total of $148 in savings.

JC Penney Christmas List for the Family

  • Women’s “east5th” Leather Jacket
  • ¾ CT. T.W. Diamond Pendant
  • Pierre Cardin Men’s Dress Shirt
  • Pandigital 7” LCD Digital Photo Frame
  • Women’s Long Underwear
  • Boys Arizona Jeans:
  • JcPenney Home Collection 65 pc. Set Porcelain Dinnerware
  • Conair Neck Massager

If each item was purchased from JCPenney during their doorbuster hours (4 a.m.-1 p.m.), the total would add up to $759.26. If you just can't convince yourself to fight the traffic — and people — to purchase these items, you may end up spending about $1,347.34 before Christmas.

Most people want to avoid the early wake up call, long lines, bumper to bumper traffic and crowds of people. But for others, the hustle and bustle just may pay off in the end.
