(WSBT) The Constantine community is growing frustrated as police continue to search for Jodi Parrack's killer.
The 11-year-old girl was found dead nearly three weeks ago in a Constantine Township Cemetery.
Police are still offering little information about Jodi's death. And as far as the prosecutor's office is concerned, it will stay that way.
WSBT News received a news release Wednesday from the assistant prosecutor asking the media to scale back coverage because they say it's hurting the investigation.
The statement reads, in part:
"We have reached the stage in the investigation where media publicity with regard to specifics of the investigation is no longer desirable. The lack of publicity is no indication of lack of energy or reduced devotion of resources to finding the perpetrator of this crime."

But some parents in the community say less information is the last thing they want to hear.
"We're looking for answers. You're all of a sudden not hearing anything,” said Constantine resident Rachelle Benson.
And for parents like Jen Fischer ... not knowing what happened to Jodi Parrack continues to keep their kids awake at night.
"They're afraid to go to sleep,” Fischer said. “And we can put them to bed, and they come right back out, ‘I'm scared, I’m scared.’"
"My nieces, great-nieces will not sleep in their own room. My great-nephew will not sleep in his room,” said Rachelle Benson. “They won't go in the basement, nothing."
Some people say regular updates from police have been reassuring.
“Just to let people know that it's not over. They're still looking but there's no new or there is something new. It would just be nice to know something," said Fischer.
But those police updates have stopped. The prosecutor's office is now asking investigators not to talk to the media. Prosecutors say the way media outlets go about covering the story is hurting their investigation.
"And when it gets to the point that they're interviewing witnesses and interviewing potential suspects and making it difficult for us to do that, they're causing a problem," said St. Joseph County Assistant Prosecutor Holly Curtis.

People say they hope the truth comes out soon, laying rumors to rest and ultimately giving this small, tight-knit community the closure they want and need.
"Let her rest, let the family rest and friends ... be able to say goodbye instead of dragging this out," said Benson.
One of those rumors going around is that people are having their DNA tested. We asked the prosecutor's office about this and they refused to comment.
Investigators still have not named or ruled out any suspects in Jodi Parrack's death.
They continue to urge anyone who may have seen her between 4:45 – 10:30 p.m. on the night she disappeared to contact them immediately. Call the Constantine Police Department at (269) 435-4355 or the St. Joseph County (Mich.) Central Dispatch at (269) 467-4195.

Maybe it's more than just a murder. Maybe she was about to expose a demon for molesting her. Maybe there was drugs involved and maybe, just maybe an important person in the community is tied into this somehow? Just speculations.
