Fire Burns Home on Lincoln Way West in South Bend

(SBT24/7News) Shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday, a South Bend EMS unit passing by noticed a lot of smoke near the intersection of Lincoln Way West and Allen Street.

They found a fire burning in a home in the 1100 block of Lincoln Way.

A number of people escaped from the house as city firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames on the second floor.

Authorities blocked traffic on Lincoln Way West as emergency crews worked at the scene.
