Second accident occurs on U.S. 31 near Plymouth

By Beth Boehne

(SBT24/7News) Police and emergency workers are being stretched thin as a second personal injury accident was reported at 2:06 p.m. Monday on U.S. 31 south of Plymouth-Goshen Trail, according to emergency scanner reports.

Dispatchers said three vehicles are involved in the southbound lane of U.S. 31. Two people are believed to have sustained injuries. LaPaz personnel are assisting Plymouth rescuers at this time.

Other officers and emergency personnel remain at the site of an accident between two semi-trucks on U.S. 31 farther south, south of 11th Road, where a report of a hazardous material release is commanding their attention.

Motorists are advised to use extreme caution at this time and to slow down as rain is beginning to fall in the Plymouth area.
