(WSBT) An Elkhart police officer resigned after an investigation into inappropriate conduct at the police station.

The Board of Public Safety accepted Cpl. Benjamin Eaton's resignation on Tuesday.

Safety Officer George Collard was fired in November after taking suggestive pictures of a woman in the police station's lobby.

Police officers that were supervising Collard at the time were stripped of their supervisory duties during the investigation.

Officials say their investigation should be wrapped up in a few weeks.
