2 former St. Joseph County cops face more drug charges

On Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, FBI agents arrested Ryan Huston and Andy Taghon (both pictured here), fired in July 2006 from their jobs as St. Joseph County Police officers; and Jamie Buford, on paid leave from the South Bend Police Department. Federal prosecutors charged Huston, Taghon and Buford with aiding and abetting wire fraud and conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to distribute the drug. (WSBT photo)

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY — Two former St. Joseph County officers face more federal charges.

Ryan Huston and Andrew Taghon already faced drug and fraud charges following a federal investigation.

Now, prosecutors added two more drug charges for Taghon and one more for Huston.

Taghon also faces gun charges.

Both officers were fired in 2006.

Former South Bend Corporal Jamie Buford also faces charges in the case. He resigned in October.

All three men pleaded not guilty and will be in court next Thursday.

Here's a hypothetical question for you cop haters...What if all of the cops in the country took a week off at the same time? One week where no laws were enforced. No Police. No repercussions from the law. No order. You cop haters are brilliant people because you have it all figured out. So tell the rest of us what do you think would happen in this country if this hypothetical should play out.

Please be advised that these officers have also set up black males to take the fall for crimes they did not commit. Those same black males remain in jail until this day. If police officers don't snitch on each other, who will?

Most of the cops I know are not law abiding ones. They think they can do whatever they want bc they stick together. No one will turn them in. I'm not saying there aren't honest ones out there but for the most part they are shady.

I'm a cop. I don't use my status to get anything. I know I'm not above the law. I follow the same laws I enforce. If I'm outta line, I pay the price like anyone else. These guys are an embarrassment and a shame to the rest of us. They deserve more punishment than what they're getting because they, of all people, should've known it was wrong.

Now April, don't group them all together. Most police officers do their jobs and are outstanding people, however every now and then some criminals slip through the hiring process. Most people that say all police are this or that are just criminals themselves. So my advise to everyone, don't get into trouble and you won't have problems with police officers.

Dont all police think their above the law? They just got busted doing it. Maybe this will be a lesson to all the cops out their who think they are big stuff becouse they are cops.

I hope they get what's coming to them. As Police Officers they are to be upstanding citizens of the law. They crossed the line. Now it's time to serve their time and pay the consequences. They thought they were above the law, flaunting all the money, cars, boats, houses they had. Guess most of that will eventually be seized huh. Too bad.
