PULASKI COUNTY — One hundred people in Winamac are out of their homes because of flooding along the Tippecanoe River.

Governor Mitch Daniels and Congressman Joe Donnelly toured the damage in Pulaski County Wednesday.

No one was hurt, but the river hasn't crested yet.

It's expected to flood the area with three more feet of water.

“This is critical,” Donnelly said. “If you go 5 miles from here down the road where we were, the roads are closed off and there are fields completely under water. We saw a house and a car completely under water.”

Donnelly and Daniels both say help from FEMA will be needed.

“It looks to me that there should be no trouble making a case that some of that federal assistance should be forthcoming,” Daniels said. “We’ll do a full tally and argue the case if need be.”
