Ivy Tech sees record spring enrollment statewide, locally

Ivy Tech Community College has a record enrollment for the spring semester, with 79,355 students statewide enrolled when classes started Monday.

That’s a 10.4 percent increase over spring 2007 enrollment.

Ivy Tech North Central — with campuses in South Bend, Elkhart and Warsaw — has a total of 6,188 students enrolled for this semester. That’s believed to be a record high for the region.

Enrollment by campus:

  • South Bend: 4,054 students (18 percent increase over last spring)

  • Elkhart: 1,360 (2.4 percent increase over last spring)

  • Warsaw: 774 (10 percent increase over last spring)
