TERRE HAUTE — Indiana State University students will return to their dorm rooms Monday after fire broke out in a high rise dormitory. Witnesses say an unattended candle caught a bed on fire and set an 11th floor room ablaze.

It happened just after 9:30 Sunday night in Blumberg Hall on the Indiana State campus. 420 students had to be evacuated to the student union to spend the night while rescuers and fire crews investigated.

Four people were treated for smoke inhalation including one residential assistant. Investigators say the fire started in a room on the 11th floor and spread to a room on the 12th.
