TINLEY PARK, Ill. -- Police say an armed man entered a clothing store near Chicago Saturday and shot five women, killing all of them. We've learned one of the victims is from the South Bend area.

The shootings happened at a Lane Bryant store in Tinley Park. That's just south of Chicago. The gunman is still on the loose.

Police say an armed man entered the clothing store in a strip mall and herded the five women inside the store to a back room, where he shot and killed them all.

"The motive in this case was a robbery and at some point it went rather poorly," said police.

A massive search is underway now in the south Chicago suburb. At first, police locked down every store. They checked cars and brought out search dogs. Police now believe the gunman has left the immediate area and they've widened their search, downloading video from nearby store cameras, hoping to catch a glimpse of the shooter.

Police have not released the identities of the shooter's five victims, and whether they were customers or employees. Police have re-opened some of the strip mall stores, but the Lane Bryant store remains a crime scene.

Again, we've learned one of the victims is from the South Bend area, but police have not released any names in the case. Police will be holding their next news conference at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Something needs to be done fast with the growing number of public shootings going on. Pretty soon no one is going to want to leave there house. Then what. This is the land of the free sure doesn't feel that way to me.

Jeni Bishop was a friend of mine. She was a Critical Care Nurse at Memorial in South Bend. She has little kids. I am so upset right now that I just want to throw up. How many of my friends do I have to bury because some idiot wants to play with a gun? This is not the first, but I hope it is the last.

I have to wonder, if one person, other than the criminal who legally could not possess a handgun, in that store, were to have a legally owned and permitted handgun, if these five women would have been killed

Praying for the families of all the victims. Believing God that the shooter will be found quickly and will not be able to hurt anyone else.
