ST. JOSEPH COUNTY -- A St. Joseph County neighborhood is on the lookout for anything suspicious after 13 burglaries over the last few weeks. And police say they think they're all connected.

While Renne Langdon was at work two weeks ago, thieves broke into her home by busting through the front door.

"It looked like they hit it with their shoulder," Langdon said.

Even with her two St. Bernards inside, thieves still managed to steal her TV and computer. Langdon's home was one of 12 hit. Neighbors say the string of break-ins is unusual for the area, and some believe it's the work of professionals.

"It's very scary since they're so organized. If it was helter skelter, that'd be one thing, but they've hit so many home around here," said neighbor Tom Olkowski.

Which is why neighbors are relying on each other to stay safe.

"Because of this threat everybody's looking out for everybody. If there's a truck in a yard that shouldn't be there, we're calling the owner up to find out what's going on with that truck," said Olkowski.

Investigators say because of the what the thieves are taking, they think it may be the work of a group of criminals. Police are stepping across patrols in the area.
