PLYMOUTH — Plymouth fire and investigators with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security said a fire that destroyed a Plymouth car wash early Sunday morning was purposefully set.

Plymouth Fire Chief George Cook said Thursday that more than $200,000 damage was done to the car wash located at 703 E. Jefferson St. The building is owned by Gene Hutchison, Cook said.

Cook said investigators called the fire "incendiary." Anyone convicted of intentionally setting the fire would face felony charges, he said.

Anyone who was in the area who may have seen or heard anything suspicious when the fire began at 1:38 a.m. Sunday is asked to contact the Plymouth Fire Department at (574) 936-2156 or the Plymouth Police Department at (574) 936-2126.
