I have to agree with the last 2 posts. I used to go to school and work with jerry. He was always a fun person to be around. He had his fair share of problems, but that doesn't mean he was a bad person or deserved to be killed in cold blood like he was. Stop finger pointing and assuming what one's charecter is BEFORE you know what the facts are. I know this man had 4 kids that would like to hear some words of comfort from the citizens here, not critizism.

I think it's really sad that the communinty is picking this man apart. He is dead and his children and family are sad and grieving. I just hope his family is not reading this crap.

the problem is the police aren't doing their job they are relying on the community to give information only to have our names spoken so then we are in danger. yes it is very sad that this happened to this man but everyone is afraid to help the local police in anything because they tell where they heard it then we have to be worried for our safety even more. The bible says"vengence is mine" so whomever did this to this will suffer the best way through christ

Some of u people are just plain idiots! What ever the reason is behind this death, this man has a family! How about saying a condolence to his family instead of trying to figure out why this man is dead! I worked with Jerry for about a year. He was a great guy! Fun to be around and funnier than ever! There was never a dull moment with him around. I'm so sorry that this has happened and I send my condolences to all his family.

Susan...and any other "thumpers", I personaly believe that all religions are fine...people seem to "need hope",and something or someone "above"..that is all great! Most religions bring about better people without a doubt. There are more than 3,500 religions in the world! Why must you or others preach yours on a public forum? That all aside, what does it have to do with the article above? A man was killed, and it is being investigated...it doesnt' say anything about drugs/alcohol...can you read?

Monday, Mar 10 at 1:18 PM Just Me... wrote ...

To "MOMMA", why would I be scared? are you about to preach to me/us? I'm just an honest man with an honest family...and yes our family can read...so please to tell...LOL, why should I be scared? are you????

Just me- the only reason you are addressing Bible Thumpers is because you are afraid of the truth.

Hi Just Me. Are you scared?

Some of you are unreal! Where in the article does it say anything about drinking or drugs? Are people from Indiana really that illiterate? Everyone seems to assume something that might not be there...and changes the entire topic... Let the police do their job, help if you know something, otherwise, stop twisting the facts in front of you! And you "bible thumpers" should keep it to yourself until your in your own church, stop preaching to the rest of us as to your own belief's !!! -Just Me...

Monday, Mar 10 at 7:27 AM Why Blame the police? wrote ...

Are the police the problem? Did they put the gun in anothers hand? Did they tell the man to get drunk and high? Why are you blaming the police for the actions of another? I am an American and proud of it. I wish the police could lock the problem people up..but that it not how it is! Let's protect the drug addicts and drunks - cover their tracks and let them walk the streets at 2:00 in the morning to get the bottome capped.

Monday, Mar 10 at 6:35 AM observe wrote ...

this is what is going to continue to happen to people because the police (ICE UNIT) ask users or dealers to set up individuals and then release their names and provide no protection. that's why the police need to do the job they are paid to do and stop put the lives of the others at jeopordy.

Monday, Mar 10 at 5:25 AM Brian from Elkhart wrote ...

I have lived on Middlebury St.for 17 years and I am just disgusted at how the city of Elkhart sits on their hands and lets Middlebury St. and surrounding areas turn into drug dealing areas. How many Mayors will we have before they realize we have a serious problem. If you ignore the problem, it just gets worse. Maybe the police that set around in 7-Eleven should move their paperwork down to Penguin Point on Goshen Ave. and occasionally watch the drug deals go down from the parking lot.Good Luck.

As you go back in time, crime and violence gets worse and worse. Things are better now than they have ever been. The news is biased toward sensationalism and we hear about it instantly whenever it happens. When the only news is either the sensational or high school sports and weather, it makes it seem like only shocking things are happening...
