MISHAWAKA — School City of Mishawaka Superintendent Steven Mills confirmed Friday that a "hit list" was found on a girls’ restroom wall at Mishawaka High School on Thursday.

Mills said a list of names was written in pen on the wall with a heading that said, "My hit list."

He said Mishawaka police Cpl. Mark Fedder, the school resource officer, is investigating the incident.

"We don’t take anything lightly," Mills said.

He said security was not increased because Fedder is in the building all day and "there are five administrators and adult hall monitors."

The parents of the students named on the list were told of the incident.

"It’s not something you don’t tell people," Mills said.

He was not sure how many names were on the list.
