Police have identified a man whose body was found in the Tippecanoe River Sunday afternoon.

Jeremiah Robbins, 26, of Medaryville, was found floating in the river near the 100 block of South Old S.R. 14 about 2:40 p.m. after Pulaski County officers were called to the scene.

The body was removed from the river, near the west bank, after the coroner's office was notified.

Details on Robbins' death have not been released and the case remains under investigation.

Jeremiah will be missed by many people that he had loved and they loved in return. I will never forget him and he will never leave my mind for the rest of my life. I love you always and forever. May you rest in peace.

This is a comment to Lydia Gilland... The police and fire dept. both searched the river and the river banks for Mr. Robbins and could not locate him. The Indiana State Police Dive Team and Indiana Dept. of Conservation also search for this young man to no prevail. The water and temp. that day was very cold and therefore Mr. Robbins would have not lasted more then 5 min. in the icy water. Hyperthemia more then likely set in and he drowned. Icy water will cause muscles to tighten up.

Jeremiah ran from the emergency room at the Pulaski county hospital and ran in the direction of the river. The police officers on duty that night did not actually witness Jeremiah going into the river but running towards it, but a search was done of the river that night and into the next day. Since he could not be located that night, its only fair for them to assume that he was able to ellude police. Its a sad situation, but the police should not be faulted.

I would like to know why the police didn't look for this young man. If they chased him to the river why didn't they find them that night.

Sounds like this guy has serious mental issues. The story back in Dec. when he fled police in Winamac atated he told them he was drinking gasoline, and eating raw meat. If he would have only gotten the help he needed then, instead of breaking free from cops at the hospital, this would have never happened. Sad news for this area.

As a mother, my heart aches for the Robbins family. As a mother, my heart also aches for my own child, who is devastated by this news, and has held out hope that Jeremiah would be found alive.
